Wow, Clary loves her mom so much right? Seriously, Clary just shot herself in the foot, because with this passage she revealed exactly why she was so hectic to get to Renwick’s in the first place. This also answers my earlier question of why Clary didn’t even take the time to call Isabelle and ask for her much-needed help. And I can assure you it wasn’t at all about saving her mother.
Clary launched this rescue plan to save her one true love Jace. Jace is her only priority now. And let me remind you that Jace is a guy she only met two weeks ago. A guy for the most part who has belittled and talked down to her at every turn. Jace, a boy who not a few days ago practically called her a whore simply because she slept platonically in the same bed with her lifelong best friend.
*shaking my head* I’m just completely disgusted, but honestly, I’m not surprised. Clary has been completely disregarding her friends and family for Jace Wayland since the very beginning of this book.
Also, isn’t that such a nice message to give teenage girls and the young adults who are reading this. Romantic love takes priority over every other relationship in your life, including your family and friends.
