Hold up! Did Clare really write that Isabelle is using a sensor to find out where Magnus is holding his party? Uh, didn’t Jace use a cell phone the chapter before last? What happened to using Google Maps or mapquest? Both websites were actually online in 2007, the year that this book was set. So does Clare mean to tell me that there was a party flyer that just announced that Magnus Bane was throwing a party, but didn’t have the fucking address on it? So you mean to tell me that Magnus just threw a party, and expected the vast amount of Downworlders in New York City to just instantly know where he lives?
Again, Clare can’t be consistent on how integrated the Shadowworld is with modern human society and our technology. Clare just keeps swinging between The Shadowworld being a culture that has the technology level of ninetieth and early twenty century to suddenly using modern human technology.
YOU CAN’T FUCKING DO IT THAT!
It’s sloppy writing, and inefficient worldbuilding on Clare part. At this point, I just want some freaking consistency, is that too much to ask?
ETA 8/3/2016: Sorry guys, but I just realized that on the panels it says this passage was taken from Chapter 11, but it was actually taken from Chapter 12. It’s way too late to change because I’m currently working on Chapter 15. Fortunately, the next week’s panels are correctly labeled.
