This a continuation of my last post. Raphael has revealed himself to be a vampire, and now he’s called his coven to help him out. There is just one little problem, apparently, they can only be seen with ‘the sight’.
Do I even need to tell you guys how much an ass pull this is? Of course not! Because unlike Cassandra Clare , I don’t try to insult my audience’s intelligence. The reason why this bit of world building fails is because we have already been introduced to vampires in the last two chapters. And by the way, Clary wasn’t using her spelshul second sight to see them either.
However, let’s put that to the aside for a moment. Let’s assume that this is part of the vampires’ inherent abilities. My biggest question is: why didn’t Jace didn’t take Clary aside and warn her to use her second sight before they even got to the Hotel? He had ample opportunity to do so at the church and on the subway, but Jace never said a word.
So with all this in mind, it’s more than obvious that Cassandra Clare thought this reveal up, and didn’t bother to try to make it work with the earlier chapters. Clare could have easily written Simon not seeing the Vampires at Magnus party, but no, at zero hour we get this ass pull instead.
Yeah, the vampires apparently invisible unless you have the sight. Give me a fucking a breath.
