This really proves that Clary really does have the self-preservation of a lemming. I mean I talked about this last week, but I just wanted to reiterate that this was beyond stupid! Jace was actually right in this instance. Clary could have gotten seriously hurt and God forbid if there had been any real danger waiting for her at the end the portal, because she wouldn’t be able to defend herself. In the end, Clary could have been kidnapped by Valentine’s minions, or even dead; and Jace wouldn’t have known where to find her.
Also I want to point out that Jace calling Clary stupid is actually the very least of what Jace has done to her so far. I would like to remind you that Jace actually gambled with her life by putting the rune on her, and he didn’t care at all that she could have ended up a Forsaken. Jace should be apologizing about that, but he hasn’t and he probably won’t.
And the last thing that I have a problem with In this passage is that this all takes place in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and in the middle of the day mind you. Yet, no one has seen Clary and Jace just appear out of nowhere. And how Clare Explains this is that the neighbors are not there, even if there weren’t any neighbors there, this in fact New York City. There would still be some kind of foot traffic because New York is one of the most populated cities in the United States. So, it really makes no sense that no one would have seen Clary or Jace.
