*takes deep breath* I’m going to break these quotes down, because there is so much fuckery in those two snippets I can’t even begin to tell you. First off, those words did not just come out of Jace Wayland’s mouth, right? This is the same boy in Chapter 3 who outright admitted that he lied to Clary when he told her he would leave her alone and stop following her if she just gave him her hand. Yeah, so Jace can tell bald face lies straight to someone’s face, but god forbid if someone lies to the great Jace Wayland? Give me fucking break!
Okay, now that I’ve said my piece on that first snippet, let’s talk about this whole magic issue. I have been screaming since Chapter 5 that Alec and Jace’s protestations that they don’t practice magic is false. I can say with a good amount of certainty that Dorothea doesn’t perform magic, and for the most part(expect for maybe the cards) the magical tools and instruments power themselves. They were endued with the power of Dorothea’s mother’s power. However, I can’t say same thing about the runes (or marks) nor the stele because Cassandra Clare hasn’t told us what powers the stele or the runes. So yeah, I’m calling bullshit. This is sad, and pathetic on Clare’s part. It literally would have taken one sentence to clear this up, but she is too lazy to do it.
