“Clary!” It was a boy’s voice, anxious. Immediately Clary thought, Jace. She spun around.
It wasn’t Jace. Sebastian, the dark-haired boy from the Penhallows’ living room, stood in
front of her, panting a little as if he’d chased her down the street at a run.
She felt a burst of the same feeling she’d had earlier, when she’d ɹrst seen him—
recognition, mixed with something she couldn’t identify. It wasn’t like or dislike—it was a
sort of pull as if something drew her toward this boy she didn’t know. Maybe it was just the way he looked. He was beautiful, as beautiful as Jace, though where Jace was all gold, this boy was pallor and shadows.
Although now that she looked at him more closely, she could see that his resemblance to her imaginary prince was not as exact as she’d thought. Even their coloring was diʃerent. It was just something in the shape of his face, the way he held himself, the dark secretiveness of his eyes …

Chapter 6: Bad Blood
Wow, Clary’s sadness over Jace didn’t last all that long, did it? Wasn’t Clary supposed to be all devasted over Jace and his mean words? *rolls eyes* Now, she’s practically drooling over Sebastian and was even alluding him to a fairytale Prince. By the way, the sounds you are hearing is me gagging. Let me remind you that Sebastian is her Clary Fray’s biological brother. For the love of god, Cassandra Clare needs to really be ashamed of herself! Seriously, she needs to get her hands out of her pants because she is not fooling anyone.
And yes, I know people can be attracted to more than one person. However, this chapter is giving me emotional whiplash. It’s emotional at one point and now Clary is going to flirt with her own brother. I didn’t add it, because I’m too tired to deal with that shit. Just take my word for it, she is comically flirting with this dude. She is literally rebounding moments after Jace breaks up with her (and if you don’t think that wasn’t a breakup scene you guys need to guys need to get your eyes checked)!
By the way, I also find this funny that Clary all but called Isabelle a slut for dating and flirting guys. However, I find it that hypocritical that Clary is doing the same thing and is not being painted with the same brush. *sips tea*
In the end, what I want is for Clary is to take time to maybe process everything and truly move on from Jace. Not this cheap facsimile that was written in this passage.
