“I’m not glad to see you,” he said. Some of his color had come back, but the shadows
under his eyes were still gray smudges against his skin. Clary waited for him to say
something else, but he seemed content just to stare at her in undisguised horror. She noticed with a distracted clarity that he was wearing a black sweater that hung oʃ his wrists as if he’d lost weight, and that the nails on his hands were bitten down to the quick. “Not even a little bit.”
“This isn’t you,” she said. “I hate it when you act like this—”
“Oh, you hate it, do you? Well, I’d better stop doing it, then, hadn’t I? I mean, you do
everything I ask you to do.”
— City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
Chapter 6: Bad Blood
A part of me is loving that everyone is telling Clary what I have been saying for years. I am just sipping at all of the delicious tea which is flavored with Clary’s tears. However, another part of me knows that Cassandra Clare heard all the criticisms of her precious self-insert and this is her way to get her readers to feel sorry for her and quite possibly come to her defense. By the way, It’s not working. Everything that Isabelle and Jace have said is %100 true. I have posts upon posts where I have pointed it out over, over, and over again.
Clary doesn’t care about anyone. It’s all about her needs, all about her wants, fuck everyone’ else. It’s been that way from the fucking jump. I love that Isabelle in the last chapter got her own, but I hate in this chapter she is switching from being annoyed by Clary to feeling sorry for her.
My next big point is how Clary is all, “This is not like you.” and then in the same fucking sentence contradicts herself by saying.”I hate when you are like this.” This is exactly like him. Jace has been nothing scornful, and derisive of every one of Clary’s thoughts and decisions from the very beginning.
Besides, Clary doesn’t know him at all. They only have known each other by Cassandra Clare’s timeline? What, a month and a half? And by the way, they only had maybe a handful of conversations about their pasts. They don’t know each other at all. Jace and Clary’s relationship has been about lust from again the jump. Cassandra Clare is not fooling anyone with this bullshit.
Clary is acting is like Jace and she had this deep bond and she knows him so well. The fact is according to Clare it’s only been two months since “City of Bones” and there have been only a few scenes since Clary and Jace that had them get to know each other. You might be siblings (they aren’t) but you are practically strangers. And you would know that if you stop lusting after him every second.
