“I don’t want to go home.” Clary tried to collect herself. “I came here to … to meet
someone. I have something to do.”
“Luke told me,” said Amatis. “Let me give you a piece of advice—you’ll only nd Ragnor
Fell if he wants to be found.”
City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
Chapter 5: A Problem With Memory
Why is everyone in this goddamn series so fucking stupid? Oh, because Clary is a lazy hack who refuses to do the actual work to write a coherent and cohesive plot so she dumbs down all of her characters so she doesn’t have to do any real work.*sigh* You wonder why I asked that in the first place?
So basically, Amatis is still sympathetic to the circle. The big point is that Amatis didn’t simply leave the Circle when she probably suspects Valentine was behind her brother Luke’s turning. Oh no, peeps, she was literally kicked out and replaced. Just like The Lightwoods, they didn’t get disgusted by his views or his plans on genocide and left. They were either left behind or kicked out. Luke who was there for the aftermath knows this.
However, instead of telling Amatis enough to for her to help them. No, Luke is an utter dumbass and spills out the tea to someone who quite probably going to betray them. Yeah, he had no choice to leave Clary alone with her, but Luke did have control over what to tell his sister.
And for that, he is utter and complete dumbass!
