Simon chose to ignore this. “Seriously,” he said, as Alec and Jace exchanged glances. “It’s
fine. All I want is to get out of this place.”
“You’ll go with him?” Jace said to Alec. “And make sure everything’s all right?”
They were looking at each other in a way that was familiar to Simon. It was the way he
and Clary sometimes looked at each other, exchanging coded glances when they didn’t want
their parents to know what they were planning.

City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
Chapter 3: Amatis
I think I have headache guys! Seriously, Cassandra Clare really dumb down her books because she really thinks her entire audience are a bunch of brain-dead dribbling morons. Yeah, there are some book stans that are that stupid. However, that is not that majority of her fans. I have met some decent sane fans who sees right through her bullshit just like I do and she’s not fooling anyone.
And another thing! I really fucking hate that she is trying insinuate in the most obvious way ever that Alec and Jace know each other so well and have so close bond that they communicate by looking at each other. This would mean a lot, if she actually put in the time and the effort to flesh the parabatai bound to something than “Jace Wayland’s Bitch”. Jace doesn’t talk to Alec, he doesn’t really hang out with Alec, he only talks Alec when he wants something. I have yet to see any evidence that they have a special bond.
I hate to keep bringing up the show, but they wrote Jace and Alec’s parabatai so much better. They actually showed us that they were soul bounded and the consequences of it. So inclusion: You fail again, Clare!
