“And how did it happen? Were you attacked on the street, or perhaps in your bed at night? Do you know who it was who Turned you?”
“But, my boy!” Aldertree cried. “How could you not know something like that?” The look he bent on Simon was open and curious. He seemed so harmless, Simon thought. Like someone’s grandfather or funny old uncle. Simon must have imagined the bitter smell.

Chapter 4: Daylighter
Wow,it’s a little too late, brah! I know that Clare is trying to push this two weeks nonsense, however we all know that shit is a straight up lie. *shrugs* But let’s say Clare’s right and it’s only been two weeks. A child was murdered and then turned into a vampire. Yet, you are now deciding to give a shit? Seriously, if this was a real case and the police decided to wait until weeks to start investigating, I would be calling for the detectives resignations.
I have been screaming how The Clave did nothing about Simon, and he never went to talk to Raphael’s coven. Yet. it seems really much like a cowardly move on Aldertree to be interrogating Simon who is by himself and a defenseless in the stronghold of the Shadowhunters. No, Aldertree is too chicken shit to actually man up and go down to the Hotel DuMort and get some fucking answers.
Honestly, Clare is intentionally writing Aldertree as a sniveling weasel, but she doesn’t seem to get as the walking talking representation of The Clave, It really doesn’t make The Clave itself look good at all.
