All her plans evaporated—her half-formed hopes of rushing after Fell, saving her mother, even ɹnding Luke—nothing mattered, no words came. She crossed to the door. Alec and Isabelle moved to let her pass. Neither of them would look at her; they looked away instead, their expressions shocked and embarrassed. Clary knew she probably ought to feel humiliated as well as angry, but she didn’t.
She just felt dead inside. She turned at the door and looked back. Jace was staring after her. The light that streamed through the window behind him left his face in shadow; all she could see was the bright bits of sunshine that dusted his fair hair, like shards of broken glass.

Chapter 6: Bad Blood
Note: Hey guys, next week is the week of 4th of July. And if you are not American, it’s a big holiday for the U.S. I’m going to be way too busy with the kids to write and edit everything in time. So i will be taking next week off. I will be on Monday, July 9th. Sorry about the late notice! Now on with the sporking!
This feels like a whole lot like “New Moon.” Clary is just numb and nothing else matters. Again proving that this book’s McGuffin doesn’t mean a whole hell of a lot. Also, it proves my point that this trip was all about Clary being without Jace and all the other stuff including HER OWN COMATOSE mother means nothing if Jace doesn’t love her.
Now, yes people say that when they break up: “Nothing means anything without you.” However, for the most part, that is hyperbole. People break up and eventually over time they move and live. This is basically life. It’s one thing to say this is a weak moment, but when all of a person’s actions prove that the only thing the aforementioned person cares about is their romantic partner. Yeah, I’m going to take their word for it. I also, I can understand the feeling of being numb, but right now Clary’s main priority should not be about her crumbling love life.
It’s her mother.
I have no doubt that Clary is all ready to pack it up and leave Idris if she could. Also, I’m going to spoil you: Jace said this to protect her from The Clave. Isn’t this the exact “plot” of New Moon?
Again, you’ll can all miss me with this Clary is better than Bella Swan nonsense. Let me say it once again for the people in the back: BELLA SWAN IN A RED WIG!
