How many freaking times must I ask: WHAT THE FUCK IS VALENTINE’S MOTIVATION AGAIN? Seriously, what does this all have to do with furthering his goal of making a child army to over through the Clave? Again, if I could trust that Cassandra Clare would wrap this up in any type of satisfying matter, then I would not be questioning all of this so hard. However, since Clare can’t stop being disappointing, I going to ask why is Valentine breaking into the Silent City, possibly risking himself getting caught by The Clave to get this sword?
Also, we have yet to see Valentine make any child soldiers (which I’m not advocating in any way)but again he’s not furthering any of his previous goals in this damn book, and it’s already five chapters in. Also, what exactly is the plot of this novel? Because unlike City of Bones in which Clare made a token attempt to give us some semblance of a plot, in this book, there seems to be no overall plot or overall motivation or goal for the characters to achieve. This book has been so far about these half-assed soap opera type subplots and nothing else. Seriously, am I the only person who find all of this really fucking annoying?
