Welcome back! First and foremost I want to apologize for my two-week absence. I usually have two to three weeks of posts scheduled. However, I (and the rest of my family), were sick for the majority of this month, which literally ate all of my normal post buffer. So I’m sorry about the wait and I am more than happy to be back! Now, let’s talk about this chapter. This chapter is when the plot decides to finally show up to the party. Anyway, enough procrastination on my part, let’s get to the nitty-gritty of this passage.
You remember guys when I was screaming and shouting and carrying on about how stupid it is that the doors will open for anyone with Shadowhunter blood was? Yeah, turns out once again that I was completely right. Because I bet you donuts to dollars that this security loophole is exactly how Valentine got into the Silent City in the first place.
And you guys know what? The thing that makes this worse is that the Silent City not only holds one of the most valuable items in the Shadow world, which is The Mortal Sword. It’s a jail that is holding some of the Shadow world’s worst of the worst. Yet, they had absolutely no security, no alarms, no one other than the Silent Brothers to guard it.
The Silent Brothers, who were supposed to the be fiercest warriors in the entire Shadowhunter community, somehow managed to get easily dispatched by Valentine.
If the Clave, or hell even the Silent Brothers, actually paid a little more attention to such things as security the Silent Brothers wouldn’t be dead and The Mortal Sword wouldn’t be in the hands of Valentine right now.
