This is supposed to be our penultimate chapter, and this is how she ends it? I am supposed to be worried about Alec, but honestly, I don’t care! Seriously, I’m pretty apathetic at the whole plot right now. I have basically raged and raged and now I just don’t care. I just want this whole farce to be over (one more chapter guys!).
I also it finds it funny that we don’t get to see Alec really fight in a battle. He only fought once on screen and ended up with being hurt. Basically, my point is that I really want Alec to do something other than to be Jace’s whipping boy or the token gay. I mean despite my issues with the show, they actually made him a wonderful 3-D character with his own storylines and character arc. Yet, according to the bookstans, we should be grateful that Alec is here to just be a useless token character. How about no!
More than just Alec, to me, it feels that the Lightwoods, in general, are here for no reason. Actually, the only necessary characters are Jace and Clary, and maybe on a good day Valentine. They are one-dimensional cardboard cutouts and that’s sad for a series that has such a large cast list.
Now, Clare has ended this chapter with a cliffhanger and again I can honestly care less. Especially after all the times, Clare has shitted on her audience up to this point. I know they are going to be okay, and this cliffhanger just feels cheap to me.
Well, that’s it for this week. I will be back on Monday. Sorry for the mix-up guys and we will be talking the final chapter and finally the fucking epilogue of this god forbidden book. Then you guys can stay tuned for my overall review of this book.
