You know as much as both Clary and I gave Maia so much shit in the last chapter for attacking Simon. This right here makes Maia look so much a better person than anyone else in this godforsaken book. Unlike anyone else in this book, Maia sincerely recognized what she did was wrong and actually apologized for what she did.
Yet, Clary is being a bit of a hypocrite by shitting on Maia, when Clary herself has hurt Simon. Let me remind Clare and her bookstans that Clary completely ignored what Simon would want and let him turn into a vampire Then earlier, Clary cheated on Simon with Jace, and then later on in the story constantly continuing to lie and string him along.
I know those two actions really don’t compare, in the end, Maia did try to kill Simon. However, I can’t help point out that Maia has done something no one else has truly done in this book: feel sincere remorse for their actions.
And do you guys see that last line? This is Clary’s way of lampshading her own horrendous actions. Simon is ‘pretty forgiving’ of the fact that she basically took away his agency for her own selfish reasons. He is also ‘pretty forgiving’ because he took her back after she cheated on him. *shaking my head* Despite all of Clary’s previous histrionics, this shows without a doubt that Clary really isn’t sorry at all.
