Okay, so The Inquisitor just died? Am I supposed to feel something because honestly the only thing this makes me feel like doing is rolling my eyes? Honestly, I have already pointed out in long exhausting detail why Imogen Herondale aka The Inquisitor is a useless character. She is, in fact, a pale imitation of that bitch Dolores Umbridge.
I’m insulted that anyone would even try to compare the two because Dolores Umbridge was the most effective villain in the Harry Potter series. Why Cassandra Clare who obviously stole her character from ‘Harry Potter’ because she was too lazy to not make her books look like the obvious derivative of the ‘Harry Potter’ books that they are.
Honestly, if J.K. Rowling wanted to, she would have a damn good case (better than Sherrilyn Kenyon for sure) for copyright infringement. *sigh* Why can’t we have good things, folks? Seriously, I would live for that court case.
Sorry for the tangent, folks!
My point is that Imogen Herondale had zero emotional impact on me, so I don’t feel anything about her death. *shrugs* Certainly not the happiness or the sadness Clare wants me to feel. Imogen remains a useless character with a lot of wasted potential.
Now, I have a few more points I would like to discuss. One, Imogen sacrificing herself for Jace was so out of left field and OOC it’s ridiculous. I know that Clare is trying to redeem her, but it’s so hamfisted it’s not even funny! I mean, you expect me to believe a woman that would have gladly killed Jace to get to Valentine, suddenly feels remorse? Seriously, Imogen calmy watched an injured Jace back in Part II with little emotion. You show me over and over a person who is willing to do anything (no matter how horrible immoral) to achieve her agenda throughout the book, and then in the last minute, her heart grows two sizes that day??!!
YOU HAVE TO SHOW ME THIS AHEAD OF TIME AND NOT JUST TELL ME AT THE LAST MINUTE, CLARE!
Second, this is yet another slap in the face of Clare’s readers. Honestly, I don’t understand how the assholes who after reading this book especially still defend her? In her overdramatic death scene (because this book is soap opera in a book form) Imogen drops what could have been potentially very important information; we don’t even get to hear it. This could have been easily information that led to Jace and Clary resolving their “forbidden romance”, something her fans have been waiting for. But no, she’s too lazy to just write The Inquisitor giving Jace a clue, and instead decided to table the foreshadowing for later.
Again, it’s pretty obvious that Clare really thinks that her readers are too stupid to realize what she just did. I’m going to ask again: WHY ARE YOU GUYS STILL KISSING HER ASS?! If an author shat on me as much as Clare did, I would have motherfucking walked away. Hell, I walked away from the show for less.
To sum this all up, all of this is bullshit and despite the pretenses, Clare puts up, in reality, she really doesn’t give one shit about her fans at all.
