This is another two-panel blog post guys! Believe me, when I say that I’m going have A LOT to talk about!
First off, Jace deliberately went to this werewolf bar to provoke these people into a fight, and yeah after hearing about the argument between him and Maryse I can kind of understand that. Jace is a self-admitted masochist with a self-destruction impulse a mile-long. So, of course, he’s going to look the nearest most available people for him to satisfy his impulses.
However, any slack that I gave Jace completely evaporates after I realize that the werewolves are legally bound by the Accords to not hurt any of the Shadowhunters. The second panel especially confirms my conclusion in the subtext. The bartender basically says that they are not even allowed to defend themselves or they risk breaking the Accords, and thus their fragile truce between the Shadowhunters and the werewolves.
So, Jace is basically picking on people who can’t legally defend themselves without incurring some type of punishment. Which basically proves what I’ve been saying all along about Jace: not only is he a racist, but he’s a bully and a coward as well. Yet again, I’m supposed to feel sorry for this guy and empathize with him? *snort* Give me a fucking break!
