Uh, excuse me, but what the actual fuck is this? Seriously, guys I’m supposed to buy that the Inquisitor is just so clever when Clare is literally pulling out worldbuilding and plot points out of her ass to justify it.
Since when can you just implant a rune into a glass? I mean why do that when you can know just trace a rune on the glass itself or on the back of the glass? Speaking of this piece of glass, it’s nice to know that Jace keeping this shard glass was just as stupid as I said it was. There is no logical reason for Jace to keep the glass, and he kept it anyway so Clare can have this reveal. This is not how foreshadowing works, hon. Foreshadowing is clues that logically fit into the overall puzzle of both the plot and the reveal.
Jace is a not a soft and sentimental person. I said this from the beginning, but this is totally out of character for him. Then add on to the fact that he claimed to kept shard because he stupidly thought could spot Valentine at the old Wayland Manor and not even caring if that was the case Valentine could be monitoring him through that same glass.
Not to the next piece of stupidity, So the Inquisitor tracked Jace to Valentine’s boat. Was there a map that basically labeled the boat as Valentine’s? Seriously, how in the hell did the Inquisitor know that was Valentine’s boat and not just some random boat? Did she follow them and saw Valentine?
And if she knew Jace was visiting Valentine, why didn’t she gather up her posse of Shadowhunters and attack? Valentine was for the most part by himself (if you discount the demons). They could have easily taken him down because it’s one person versus a lot of shadowhunters. Valentine no matter how powerful is just one person.
So this is yet another reveal that literally makes zero sense and proves that Clare doesn’t really give a shit about the plot at all because she is pulling everything out of ass at this point.
ETA: I forgot to edit this post as thoroughly as I usually do. Sorry about that guys.
