Again, you know this would be a pretty effective way to show that Simon has changed and that he is still adjusting to his changes. Unfortunately, Cassandra Clare keeps writing Simon’s reaction to his sudden vampirism pretty ineffectively and inconsistently. Simon is not really freaking out, oh, he has dreams of blood, but he’s never shown that he’s physically affected by blood. He never shows that he is at all affected by his changes.
And speaking of his changes, I have been meaning to bring this up: but why Simon hasn’t shown a lick of resentment about Clary choosing to let him turn into a vampire? This should have been a huge point of conflict with Clary and Simon’s relationship, but Clare has seemed to completely lampshade this.
Again, that could have been interesting to read, but Clare is quick to erase anything that looks like a legitimate conflict in this damn book.
