What in the actual fucking hell is this shit?!! This is not how you write two people getting into a romantic relationship! *headdesk* How many times guys, HOW MANY FUCKING TIMES have I sat right here and told you guys that Clary has made it very clear that she was not romantically interested in Simon?!! A million times at this point, hell I was screaming about this very shit in the last chapter.
Clary has exactly had one or maybe two instances so far of showing real sexual attraction towards Simon, and that is it. There hasn’t been any mental realization on her part so, gradual or otherwise. There haven’t been any instances of real organic romantic chemistry or unresolved sexual tension between Clary and Simon.
Up to this point, it has been all one-sided on Simon’s part, he’s feelings towards Clary is more obsessive infatuation than real true affection. Clary just suddenly out of nowhere just allowed Simon to call her his girlfriend before she decided to abruptly take him to bed.
I would like to also point out there are really nasty implications that come with all of this. This passage makes it seem that Clary only took Simon because she was jealous of Maia. It seems to me that Clary thinks that the only way she can keep Simon’s attention is by going to bed with him. I personally never got the impression that Simon was at all interested in Maia romantically, but with the way Clary reacted to Maia when they first met tells me that Clary perceives her as a threat.
Because god forbid Clary just let Simon go so he can move on to a more healthier relationship with someone who might actually love him back. Simon moves on to a more healthier relationship with someone else because that means she will no longer be the center of Simon’s attention and object of devotion.
THIS IS NOT LOVE! This is just another way for Clary to manipulate Simon to do exactly what she wants, which to be honest is nothing new.
