I actually said in the last chapter that Clary discovering that she had the ability to make her drawings real was the kick off to this book’s climax. I’m going to retract that statement. This shit right here? Yeah, this is the real kick off to this book’s climax, and what a lackluster kick off it is! Seriously, I’m so bored right now. It’s like watching freaking paint dry!
Also, do you guys remember way back in Chapter 7 where Dorothea out of the fucking blue gave Clary a tarot card reading? Basically, that was a very obvious foreshadowing for this moment, and I’m not fucking impressed. Clare all but shouted at the top of her lungs that we all should be paying attention to that moment because it’s going to mean something later on.
Foreshadowing when done well is subtle. And like all sueauthors (authors of Mary Sue fiction) Cassandra Clare doesn’t have a subtle bone in her entire body. It’s just downright sad and pathetic because this woman had years of writing experience before she even wrote this book and she continues to fail at writing. I especially don’t understand how her editors and her supposed critique circle ‘The Masschuttes All Stars’ (and no I’m not kidding you that is what they call themselves), and her team of beta readers didn’t take her aside to tell her that she needed to fix her book. I keep bringing this up, but it just continues to boggle my mind that this book is so horrible, when she seemingly had a team of people to help her edit this book. *shaking my head*
