I talked a lot about this in the last post, but I want to reiterate that this damn prologue is not doing a freaking thing to further cement that Valentine is a clever antagonist. Actually, it’s doing the complete opposite. Seriously, Valentine had to have known that the pentagram is the only thing that will protect the both of them against the Greater Demon that they are trying to raise, yet he is telling this warlock to just skip it?! Basically, Valentine is saying fuck safety, “because I want what I want now; damn it!” Exactly like he is a goddamn toddler and not grown ass man!
Also, the whole marble floors thing makes me want to ask yet again: Why Valentine picked this location? I’m getting the feeling that Valentine picked this location because he’s a snobbish and pretentious prick. Jesus, this the first page of this book, and I’m already developing a headache from all the stupidity.
